Susan Barrows Libby
MI1 Executive Team; Former CoS, Global technology firm
Susan Barrows Libby designs communications, external relations, and partnership strategies for institutions operating under pressure. She currently advises former senior U.S. intelligence and diplomatic leaders on open-source and HUMINT-driven analysis and leads sponsorship development for the Montana Intelligence Summit.
Over two decades, Susan has worked across conflict-affected and politically sensitive regions – from Haiti to strategic partnerships in the Persian Gulf. Her portfolio spans COVID vaccine communications with CDC Africa, advocacy for ethno-religious minorities, and transition coaching for retiring senior military leaders – work that demands building trust and moving people through high-stakes change.
Susan partners with international teams on geopolitical risk assessment and strategies that protect people, assets, and institutional credibility. She previously served as Chief of Staff for a cybersecurity startup recognized in IBM’s top 40 FinTech innovators. Grounded in firsthand experience with disaster response, political instability, and contested governance, she knows what holds up under pressure – and what doesn’t.
