Sam Asaad Hanna is a Middle East policy analyst, conflict resolution expert, and U.S. Army intelligence officer with more than a decade of experience in conflict and post-conflict environments. His work focuses on Syria, regional
security, and accountability in high-risk crisis zones, integrating policy analysis, military intelligence, and humanitarian action.
Hanna has advised the U.S. Government, European and regional partners, and civil society organizations on national security, military affairs, economic
development, and foreign policy.
He is widely recognized for his leadership with the Syrian Civil Defense (the White Helmets), managed relations with
multiple governments, briefed the U.S. Congress, directed strategic communications, and helped secure millions of dollars in funding for life-saving operations.
He currently serves as Senior Advisor at the Maritime Humanitarian Aid Foundation, as well as serving as an intelligence officer with the Maryland Army
National Guard. Hanna holds an M.A. from Columbia University, and has received multiple international awards for courage, leadership, and service to peace
